Floral Park Memorial celebrated Culture Week and National World Language Week from March 13-17. Each day was dedicated to different activities that honored and embraced the school’s diversity.
The district’s art department hosted a reception to honor 23 talented student-artists from the district on March 23.
Floral Park Memorial students participated in Nassau Community College’s annual Honors Program Art Competition on March 18. This year’s theme was “Identity.”
The artwork of Floral Park Memorial senior Sarah Saji was exhibited at the Art Supervisors Association’s 2017 Nassau All-County Art Exhibition at Farmingdale State College on March 12.
Floral Park Memorial High School’s Leo Club held its second annual installation ceremony at the school on March 9. Under the advisory of teacher Mr. Kurt Brechtlein, the club is committed to volunteerism, fundraising and service to the community and school.
And the crowd goes wild! On March 1, Floral Park Memorial’s District Sports Night Team shocked the nation. Well maybe not the nation, but definitely the entire H. Frank Carey High School gymnasium. After nearly 30 years, the curse has been broken and Floral Park was crowned first place champions!
Research indicates that students who participate in extracurricular activities perform better academically. So what better way to get the class of 2023 heading in that direction than to expose the students to the abundance of clubs that Floral Park Memorial has to offer?
Floral Park’s Future Business Leaders of America participation in the Spring District Meeting at Hofstra University on Jan. 20, was an overall success.
