As a member of National Junior Honor Society you should be involved in community service.  We will be planning activities during the year for you to participate in.  If you have the opportunity to apply for Senior Honor Society you will need at least 30 hours of service.  Only the hours you earn during grades 9 - 11 will count towards the 30 hours.  You should keep a log of all activities you participate in.  On the log include the event you participated in, the responsibilities you had and the contact person and their number.  Keep the log in a safe place  so you have the information when you need it when you apply for Senior Honor Society.  If anyone ever has any questions you can see me in  the math office before school, period 3, 7 or 8.

     VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITY
    POSTED MAY 31st
The Floral Park Conservation Society (FPCS) opens the Belmont Stakes weekend with an annual Garden Party on the night before the race. This year's outdoor event will be held on Friday, June 9th at Centennial Gardens on Floral Parkway from 5pm to sunset. An invitation is attached.
The FPCS is wondering if high school students would like to volunteer either for set-up and/or event assistance.
    Set-up is 3-5pm
Assistance during the event (such as serving food) will be 5pm to sunset.  They are looking for about 25 volunteers.  See me Friday, June 2nd if you are interested in signing up.  These hours will count towards volunteer hours
