Mrs. Marie Dalton, Chairperson of the New Hyde Park Memorial Special Education Department, has been in the field of education for over 18 years. She began her career at the Malverne School District where she held the positions of special education teacher and teacher mentor. She is a Nationally Board Certified Special Education Teacher. Mrs. Dalton joined the Sewanhaka Central High School District in July of 2018 as the Chairperson of Special Education at New Hyde Park Memorial High School. During her time in education, Mrs. Dalton has worked with various programs in Special Education from small class programs for students needing intensive specialized instructional support to Integrated Co-Teaching. At New Hyde Park Memorial, Mrs. Dalton is an advocate for students with disabilities and instrumental in ensuring the social, emotional, and academic success of all of our students. She is an educator and activist of high standards and is passionate about creating environments that will promote academic, social, and emotional excellence for all of our students. Mrs. Dalton remains committed to educating students with disabilities and providing them with the necessary skills to attain Regents diplomas as well as job training and life skills.
