An Introduction to School Social Work Services

    School Social Workers
are the link between home, school, and the community.  As members of the educational team made up of teachers, administrators, counselors, and parents, school social workers promote and support students' academic and social success by providing specialized services.  Individual and group counseling, crisis intervention, home visits, information and referral and advocacy are just some of the services provided to the students and families of Floral Park Memorial.

School Social Workers support parents and families to participate more fully in their children's education; identify and meet their children's social and emotional needs; access programs available to students with special needs, and; use community resources more effectively.

A Special Message to Floral Park Students:  I am always pleased to meet new students.  Feel free to come by the Guidance Office anytime during the week to introduce yourself.  I help students in the building with a variety of problems and concerns ranging from school troubles to problems in personal relationships.  It is my job to help you all be successful in school by assisting you in coping with things that may distract you from focusing on your academics.  To learn more about how I might be helpful, I invite you to stop by and chat!

                                                    BELIEVE AND SUCCEED
Courage does not always roar. Sometimes it is the quiet voice at the end of the day saying, "I will try again tomorrow."  -Unknown
