Students who live in the Sewanhaka Central High School District and attend a public or non-public school are eligible for bus transportation if their homes are 1-1/2 miles or more from the school.
Each student who is eligible for transportation will be issued a bus pass and must carry it at all times. Lost passes will be replaced at a cost of $5.00 per pass.
Transportation of children to private and parochial schools outside the district is provided up to a maximum of 15 miles.
SUBMISSION OF TRANSPORTATION APPLICATIONS FOR PRIVATE AND PAROCHIAL STUDENTS:
At this time, the Sewanhaka CHSD is accepting Transportation applications for Private and Parochial students for the 2020-2021 school year via email. Please download the application, complete it, and return it via e-mail to Transportation Supervisor Michael Onufrey at email@example.com.
Please note that the application is a .pdf document which can be completed using a computer, or it can be printed, completed on paper with pen, and then scanned back to your computer. The completed application can be e-mailed back as a .pdf or photo (if easier to take a picture of it with your phone).

The New York State deadline for applications to be postmarked is April 1.*

Please note that due to the closure of schools pursuant to the Executive Order(s) issued by the Governor for the COVID-19 crisis and recognizing that such requests need to be incorporated into a school district’s budget, the NYS Department of Education has directed all public school districts to accept all parental requests for transportation to charter and nonpublic schools submitted on or before June 7, 2020. The Department deems such Executive Order(s) be a reasonable excuse for a delay under Ed. Law 3635.
