Dr. Salinas' Weekly Updates*Remote Learning
In 2017, Sewanhaka Guidance Counselor Ms. Curci created the “Big Sisters” program for students with free periods who were interested in “interning” and helping out in the guidance office. The goal of the group was to help foster innate leadership in students through helping and assisting the greater Sewanhaka community.
In January, Sewanhaka High School juniors and seniors enrolled in French and Italian visited Covert Avenue Elementary School to speak to sixth graders. In just a few weeks, these incoming students will be asked to select which language class they’d like to take when they enter Sewanhaka.
The students of the month for January are, shown from left: Mekayla Moreau, business; Brandon Fitzpatrick, science; Ansel Pimentel, CTE; Rahul Maharjan, social studies; Joshua Estevez, art; Karsie Buckley, physical education; Qin Yi Huang, English; and Hailey Valentin, English.
