Elmont Memorial senior soccer player Nyla Allen was recognized as one of Newsday’s Top 100 female soccer players on Long Island. Congratulations, Nyla!
Elmont Memorial High School is proud to announce that Tochi Ukegbu and Shawn Springer (alternate) have been selected to perform with the All-State Vocal Jazz Ensemble in the New York State School Music Association All-State Festival being held in Rochester, New York.
A group of Elmont Memorial student-musicians shared their musical prowess with music educators, connoisseurs and students from around the country at The National Association of Negro Musicians Inc.’s Centennial Convention held in Chicago from July 14-19.
Elmont Memorial’s Ekele Ukegbu won first place at the Jimmy Awards on June 24. The National High School Musical Theatre Awards (the Jimmy Awards), presented by The Broadway League Foundation, recognize individual artistry in vocal, dance and acting performance.
Elmont Memorial recently welcomed the newest members of the school’s internationally recognized Model United Nations Program.
Elmont Memorial’s Science Research Program is proud to announce that several students were honored at the 2019 Long Island Science Congress Senior Division Awards ceremony at St. Anthony’s High School on May 20.
Elmont Memorial senior researcher Michael Lawes was recently published in the September 2018 issue of NeuroToxicology, a peer-reviewed scientific journal. Lawes was a contributing author to the article, “System-specific neurodegeneration following glucotoxicity in the C. elegans model.”
Ninety-two students from Elmont Memorial’s Class of 2018, Class of 2019 and Class of 2020 have been named Advanced Placement Scholars by the College Board in recognition of their exceptional achievement on the college-level Advanced Placement Exams.
Superintendent Dr. Ralph Ferrie and Elmont Memorial Principal Kevin Dougherty have been selected to receive the Nassau BOCES Education Partner Award.
