It was a sea of purple on Oct. 6, as students, teachers and community members gathered for Sewanhaka High School’s annual homecoming celebration.
The day began with a festive parade that featured banners and floats based on this year’s theme, American Cities. It continued with the senior members of the football and cheerleading teams and their families being honored. The Indians then took the field against Herricks High School, but unfortunately they came up short and were defeated, 24-12.
During halftime, spectators enjoyed a spectacular performance by the school’s marching band and Rockettes. Congratulations to grade 8 for winning for the best banner and the junior class for their New York City float. The varsity cheerleaders were winners in the performing groups banner competition.
