Field Trip to Fashion Institute of Technology for Sewanhaka Sewing Club

On May 3, Sewanhaka High School’s Sewing Club explored the cultural history of Euro-American women’s fashion with a visit to the Fashion Institute of Technology. The students in family and consumer science teacher’s Ms. Leventelis’ Sewing Club visited parts of the FIT campus, as well as the museum. The exhibit featured was Fabric in Fashion, and the students were able to explore differences in silhouette and textiles, and the aesthetics of women’s fashions in Europe and America over the last two and half centuries.
