Blue and White Night at New Hyde Park Memorial

On Friday, Sept. 13, seventh grade students at New Hyde Park Memorial High School enjoyed Blue and White Night. The event, specifically designed for incoming seventh graders, provides an opportunity for them to meet and celebrate as a class. The theme this year was “Gladiators Go Global.” Students entering the building were given passports and sent around the building to various locales and activities, including the gymnasium (volleyball, soccer, basketball, corn hole and can jam), the art room (to design a Gladiator picture) and the library (to engage in various STEM activities such as robotics, coding, Lego creation and a lifesize Jenga). The second part of the night consisted of a pizza and DJ dance party sponsored by the Student Council. A great thank-you goes out to Mr. DiScala, Mrs. Psaros and Mrs. Vosswinkel-Blum for organizing the night’s festivities.
