Sewanhaka Students Make Their Mark

This year, the Sewanhaka High School art department is finding new and creative ways to bring students together while showcasing the importance of art education.

In support of National Arts in Education Week and in combination with International Dot Day, the art department had every art student create an original dot inspired by the classic children’s book, “The Dot.” The art classes began the process by reading the book and discussed how just one mark can inspire someone to believe in themselves. At the end of the project, every art student had their dot displayed for the whole school to see. Everyone agreed that the project was a success and that the students loved the process of creating an artwork for all to enjoy.
