Elmont Memorial’s Class of 2021 Valedictorian and Salutatorian
Elmont Memorial High School has announced that Shazman Shahid and Epiphany Hill are the valedictorian and salutatorian, respectively, of the Class of 2021.
Shazman is known in school as a bright and inquisitive student who possesses incredible analytical, writing and verbal skills. His weighted GPA is 103.4, and he has been enrolled in multiple honors and Advanced Placement courses. This year, Shazman was named an AP Scholar with Distinction. He is a member of the National Honor Society, Science National Honor Society, Math Honor Society, Social Studies Honor Society and World Language Honor Society. Shazman is the president of Key Club, displaying leadership qualities and work ethic. Using his computer programming skills, he created a website for Key Club that has been instrumental to the organization and productivity of the club. Additionally, he participates in Newspaper Club and Senior Mathletes.
With a weighted GPA of 101.9, Epiphany excels and shows genuine interest in all academic areas. She has shown particular interest in the areas of business and technology, which led her to receive the Xerox Award for Innovation and Information Technology from the University of Rochester. As a member of TAWK (Teaching Acceptance with Kindness), her intelligence, poise and sense of caring make her an outstanding role model for younger students. Epiphany also focuses her on community service in her spare time.
