Floral Park Memorial and H. Frank Carey High Schools Closed Until November 30

Floral Park Memorial High School Closed Until November 30

Please be advised that a student at Floral Park Memorial High School has a confirmed case of Covid-19.  This is in addition to the student reported yesterday.

We have learned that Covid19 positive students were present at many non-school activities taking place beyond our control, making the number of students involved too large to safely keep school open.  In consultation with the Nassau County Department of Health, Floral Park Memorial High School will be closed next week and will re-open for hybrid instruction on November 30th.  All Floral Park Memorial High School faculty and staff will work remotely during this time.  All instruction for students of Floral Park Memorial High School will be conducted remotely as well.  Any Floral Park students that attend the CTE program will attend those classes remotely as well.

While students have done an exemplary job in school maintaining social distance and wearing their masks, please be sure to reinforce with your children good hygiene habits, mask wearing and maintaining social distance when not in school.

As per the guidance from the New York State Education Department and the New York State Department of Health, the building will be deep cleaned on Monday.

The Nassau County Department of Health will continue contact tracing and inform those who may need to quarantine.

As always, the health and safety of our students, faculty and staff are our top priority.

Respectfully,

James J. Grossane, Ed. D.

Superintendent of Schools
