Sewanhaka Senior Robotics Club Wins Multiple Awards

The district Senior Robotics Club competed and received several awards at a FIRST Tech Challenge Regional Qualifying Tournament organized by the School-Business Partnerships of Long Island, Inc. (SBPLI), which was held remotely from March 15-22.

Sewanhaka was recognized with the first place Inspire Award, second place Think Award, second place Collins Aerospace Innovate Award, second place Control Award sponsored by Arm, Inc., third place Connect Award and third place Motivate Award.

FIRST Tech Challenge students learn to think like engineers, and teams design, build and code robots to compete in a new game each year. This year’s game, ULTIMATE GOALâ„  presented by Qualcomm®, required students to build a robot to pick up foam rings from the floor and launch them into one of three different goals positioned on one side of a 12-foot by 8-foot field.
