Senior Robotics Club Succeeds Again

The District Senior Robotics Club recently competed at their second FIRST Tech Challenge Regional Qualifying Tournament of the season and received the first place Think Award and second place Innovate Award. Our students were also recognized as the team that scored the highest number of points in their division.

The team will be competing at the LI Regional Championships against 19 other local teams on April 24.

FIRST Robotics events are organized by the School-Business Partnerships of Long Island, Inc. (SBPLI) and provide opportunities for students to learn and to think like engineers. Students design, build, code and operate robots to compete in a new game each year. This year’s game, ULTIMATE GOALâ„  presented by Qualcomm®, required students to build a robot to pick up foam rings from the floor and launch them into one of three different goals positioned on one side of a 12-foot by 8-foot field.
