Virtual Broadway Masterclass

From Nov. 9-10, members of the Senior High Chorus and Band were joined for a masterclass with Broadway actresses Alysha Deslorieux and Dee Roscioli, as well as Broadway Music Director Nate Patten.

Deslorieux has played the role of each Schuyler sister in “Hamilton,” while Roscioli has earned notoriety as Elphaba in “Wicked.” Patten has directed shows such as “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory,” as well as the Tony-nominated musical “The Prom.”

The students learned about the audition experience and what life entails as a Broadway star. Student-singers Alexis Almodovar, Chelsea Sanabria, Jacqueline Williams-Donaldson, Temitope Adeyemi and Shawn Springer performed renditions of various Broadway classics for the three virtual guests. Each singer received high praise and feedback to help them further craft their artistry.
