Important Message from the Superintendent, 12.18.2020

Sewanhaka High School Closed December 19-20

Please be advised that a staff member at Sewanhaka High School has a confirmed case of Covid-19.  As tomorrow is Saturday, in consultation with the Nassau County Department of Health, Sewanhaka High School will be closed for at least tomorrow, Saturday, December 19th and Sunday, December 20th.

As per the guidance from the New York State Education Department and the New York State Department of Health, the building will be deep cleaned and disinfected on Sunday.  It is our hope that the building will be open on Monday, December 21st.

The Nassau County Department of Health will conduct contact tracing and inform those who may need to quarantine. Cooperation with the Department of Health is essential to determine the length of the school closure.

Once the contact tracing is completed, I will be able to inform you as to the length of the closure.

As always, the health and safety of our students, faculty and staff are our top priority.

Respectfully,

James J. Grossane, Ed. D.

Superintendent of Schools
