Floral Park’s FBLA Attends District Induction Dinner
Members of Floral Park’s Future Business Leaders of America joined other districts students at Sewanhaka Central High School District’s FBLA Induction Dinner Dance on Nov. 2.
More than 100 FBLA students had an opportunity to network, get to know one another and enjoy delicious food at Pompei Restaurant. Business students connected through a game of Networking Bingo, which allowed them to learn a bit about each other. Each FBLA president gave a brief speech and discussed the goals and happenings of their club. Throughout the evening, students had a chance to win gift cards to Starbucks, Dunkin Donuts, iTunes and Applebee’s through raffles.
The induction ceremony began with officers being called up by their positions and having their responsibilities read aloud. They took a pledge and then lit a candle – a vital part of the night that bolstered the importance of each position to the members and officers alike.
Floral Park’s FBLA Officers Board for the 2016-17 school year are Tina Seuling, president; Miranda Raiford, vice president; Marwa Alami, public relations/historian; Beverly Bruno, secretary; and Luke deArmas, treasurer.
The evening ended with lots of dancing, selfies and ice cream sundaes. Everyone had fun and left with amazing memories and great friendships. Members of Floral Park’s FBLA are looking forward to next year’s event.
