Elmont Memorial High School junior and football player Nassir Edwards won the 2023 Pat Pizzarelli/New York Jets Most Outstanding Receiver Award, which is given to the best wide receiver in all of Nassau County, for his efforts this season. Edwards amassed 501 receiving yards and six touchdowns on 21 receptions, despite playing in windy and rainy conditions most weeks. He has also earned All County recognition.
