H. Frank Carey High School launched its spirited homecoming festivities on Sept. 13, with a lively parade that stepped off at 11 a.m., marking the beginning of a day filled with school pride, community spirit and festive energy.
Leading the way down Caroline Avenue, the Franklin Square Fire Department and Nassau County Police kicked off the homecoming parade. The school’s marching band, cheerleaders, Pirettes and members of the homecoming court were all smiles as they joined the procession. This year’s Grand Marshal was beloved science teacher Dr. Karine McGuiness, who waved from a Jeep adorned with orange and black balloons. The parade concluded with the crowning of Homecoming Royalty Michael Agostino and Casey Govaert.
The high-energy atmosphere carried into the homecoming football game later that afternoon when the Seahawks faced off against Valley Stream South Senior High School, securing an impressive 35-0 victory. During halftime, spectators were treated to thrilling entertainment by the marching band, Pirettes and varsity cheerleaders.
The 2025 homecoming proved to be a memorable celebration, uniting students, staff, families and the entire community in a shared display of Carey spirit.
