H. Frank Carey High School has announced that Valentina Viti and Samantha Hanlon are the Seniors of the Month for February.
Valentina is a young lady who teachers describe as the ideal student, combining intelligence, perseverance and an eager desire to learn. She has a genuine inquisitiveness and is a true team player. Her contributions to LOG, the Italian Culture Club, Photography Club, the Class of 2022, Girls for Girls, Think Pink, Hallways for Runways and President’s Club are truly outstanding. This young lady also serves as captain of Pirettes, a peer tutor, and event coordinator for FBLA. Her years of dedication at Carey have led to her inductions into the Business, Math, World Language, and National honor societies. Outside of Carey, this exceptional senior remains busy with her involvement in the Girl Scouts, teaching dance classes at a local dance studio and working part time. She even launched her own business, as well.
Samantha is ambitious, motivated, smart and productive. Her inherent intelligence earned her a spot in the National, Math, Science, English and French honor societies. Her vocal talent warranted her appearances at NYSSMA, our Music Theatre Club and the Sewanhaka District Music Festival. Her passionate voice propelled her to leadership positions within the Class of 2022 and high honors from the Model United Nations Club. Samantha is president of the Mock Trial Club. Her contribution to P.S. I Love You Day this year did not go unnoticed and is a small example of her compassionate spirit and kind heart. Her presence in the community is prominent, as well. Her dedication to and involvement with the Vietnam War Veteran Association is near and dear to her heart and only supports what we know to be true, that she is one very special young lady.
