H. Frank Carey High School has announced that Kimberly Mercado and Victoria Brotschol are the Seniors of the Month for May.
Kimberly is an incredibly articulate, compassionate and mature young woman. A dedicated student, her teachers describe her as a model student who can be relied on to set the example. This exceptional senior is incredibly bright and has an average of over 100. She has been inducted into the National, Math, English, Science, Social Studies and World Language honor societies. She is an outstanding leader, as she is editor-in-chief for Poseidon, president of the Math Honor Society, vice president of the Science Society and secretary of the English Honor Society. Kimberly is also an active member of the French Club, Red Cross and Mathletes. A helpful volunteer, she has given countless hours of community service through her involvement in her youth ministry program at her church. Additionally, she is a member of the dance ministry. Her eyes light up when she speaks about her involvement with her church’s outreach program and her opportunity to work with those in need and give back to the greater community. This senior will be attending the University of Chicago in the fall.
Victoria has been a staple at Carey. As the president of the Class of 2022, she has taken on endless responsibilities and always does so with a smile. She is editor of both Poseidon and the online Clipper, and is actively involved in the Spanish Leadership Club. Her commitment to her academics is evident by the multiple honor societies she is a member of including Science, World Language, English, Social Studies and the National honor societies. She has dedicated countless hours not only to Carey, but to the community. She has helped at numerous events at Polk Street and has also acted as a volunteer for St. Catherine’s religious education program. Her commitment and dedication to giving back has not gone unnoticed. Thank you for all you have done for the Class of 2022 and good luck at Binghamton.
