PE/FCS: Theme - Growth Mindset
Simone Alford is an extremely hardworking student. She demonstrates a growth mindset throughout all her academics. She never gives up and is always determined to do well. Simone displays a passion for learning that we should all have!
Hamza Mahmoud possesses a deep curiosity in class discussions. He eagerly seeks out opportunities to expand his knowledge and understanding of class topics. Whether it be class discussions, cooking labs or group projects, Hamza consistently goes above and beyond to ensure his work is of the utmost quality.
Peace Ademokun is a wonderful student who is focused in all areas of academics and athletics. She is always willing to help others in class and has a positive attitude. Peace is always looking to improve in her studies and athletics.
Brandon Swaby is a model student in health class. He participates and puts forth 100% of dedication and hard work. Brandon gives positive feedback to discussions in class and has an excellent work ethic.
Owen Dossous is an absolute pleasure to have in class. He is a ninth grade student who does very well in school. He follows directions and participates in every class. He currently has a 100 average and hopes to maintain that grade for the rest of the school year.
Isaiah Brown is a hardworking student both inside and outside the classroom, as he participates in many sports. Isaiah is a true leader and he is only in the seventh grade. He comes to 7 a.m. workouts and is always eager to learn and better himself. He lives the phrase "1% better each day."
Ian Hodge is an absolute pleasure to have in the classroom. He has grown so much and has really come out of his shell over the years.
Elissa Acheampong is one of the kindest, most personable students at Elmont. She is a great student and athlete. She is currently a member of the JV Girls Basketball Team.
Mathew George is a friendly student-athlete. He is a valuable member of the boys varsity volleyball team.
Sabiq Khan epitomizes a growth mindset in his academic journey. Always eager to learn, Sabiq approaches challenges with resilience and a positive attitude. Sabiq is hard-working and always actively seeking feedback from his teachers.
Hefzi Sarmiento-Guifaro stands out as a good example of someone with a growth mindset. Hefzi is curious and resilient. She approaches challenges with a positive attitude and is always looking to improve. Hefzi is quick to assist and collaborate with peers.
Jamie Aldridge approaches each task with a positive and open attitude, demonstrating effort, perseverance and continuous learning. When trying new techniques in the kitchen, she does not shy away from challenges. Jaime sees them as opportunities for personal and intellectual growth. She embraces feedback while in the kitchen or when working on a project as a constructive tool for improvement rather than viewing it as criticism. Jaime sees setbacks as stepping stones toward mastery. This mindset not only contributes to her success but enhances the success of her entire team.
Zachary D’haiti emerges as a leader in the kitchen. He is a valued member of his team, understanding that growth can come from collaboration. His ability to encourage his peers, share his culinary skills and celebrate the achievements of the group contributes to a positive learning environment. Zachary’s qualities of resilience and a genuine love for learning propels him towards academic success but also positively influences the entire class.
Business and Math: Theme - Conflict Resolution
Adrian Phillips-Semple has such a great demeanor. He goes out of his way to lend a helping hand to struggling students. He has a way of realizing who needs help and such a calming way to help a student without them realizing he's helping them. Adrian is an asset to his classes and especially to his classmates.
Carll Campbell is an empathetic and well-rounded student who always puts others first. During class, he is frequently looking out for others and always offers a helping hand. He helps translate for several students in class, and works with them to make sure they are able to understand the lesson and complete their work.
Loic Robert always offers a helping hand when needed. Even though he is not enrolled in Virtual Enterprise, he is always stopping by to help his peers. Recently, he offered to be in their commercial that they were filming for their virtual business.
Tiffany Degannes has a wonderful personality. In class, she is always willing to help her peers. She will take time from her work to help classmates around her stay on topic. She has a wonderful outlook and creates a wonderful atmosphere around her.
Aaron Kelly is a diligent math student. He participates in class and helps his peers. When he is unsure on how to solve a problem, he is resilient to work through it. He is a leader within the classroom.
Nwadiuto Onyeobia is an excellent student who continuously works hard throughout class. She is the first student to help others when they need assistance. Nwadiuto enjoys challenges and always perseveres through them and motivates her peers, as well.
