Five Elmont Memorial High School Science Research students recently presented at the Long Island Science and Engineering Fair (LISEF). LISEF is a competition for the most advanced high school projects, and the participants present to professionals in their subject areas from local universities, scientific institutions and in the field.
The Elmont Memorial students who presented their research projects are junior Aafia Ahmed, senior Umar Ahmed, senior Gianna Marsh, sophomore Kahela Michel and junior Emaan Tehseen.
Aafia qualified for the second round of the event and will be competing on March 5 for the opportunity to represent Long Island at the Regeneron International Science and Engineering Fair.
