Elmont Memorial’s Science Research program had an admirable showing at the New York State Science and Engineering Fair (NYSSEF) Andromeda and Thermo-Fisher Awards, held at Plainview Old Bethpage High School on June 12. The awards ceremony recognized the top student projects from the science fair.
Andromeda Division: (Grades 9-12)
1st Place Environmental Science - Varda Qudratullah
Honorable Mention Environmental Science - Christina Bayne
Thermo-Fisher Division (Grades 6-8)
1st Place Biology - Neville Chinma Crick
1st Place Environmental Science - Sabiq Khan and Zeeshan Mutlib
2nd Place Environmental Science - Paige Gorousingh and Shiloh Campbell
3rd Place Environmental Science - Jorden Griffin and Abdullah Islam
Additionally, Sabiq Khan, Neville Chinma Crick and Zeeshan Mutlib were designated as Thermo-Fisher Scientific Junior Innovators Challenge Winners for scoring in the top 10% of all students!
