Spotlight on Our Class of 2026 Salutatorian

Yalisah Lozada is widely recognized as an ambitious and high-achieving scholar whose commitment to excellence is evident in every facet of her academic and extracurricular life. Her dedication is reflected in her recognition as an AP Scholar with Distinction, receiving the AP Capstone Diploma and consistent placement on the High Honor Roll every marking period since seventh grade. She is an active member of numerous honor societies, including World Language, National English, National Science, Tri-M, Rho Kappa, Mu Alpha Theta and the National Honor Society. A devoted member of the Elmont Memorial community, she has shown exemplary leadership, serving as president of the Class of 2026 last school year. She further extends her leadership as treasurer of Key Club, where she has helped coordinate blood drives and supervise events, and to the Jazz Choir, in which she previously served as secretary. In recognition of her exceptional academic performance and leadership skills, she was awarded the prestigious Clarkson University Leadership Award. A passionate and articulate debater, Yalisah has been an active member of the Model United Nations team since 2021, earning both an Outstanding Delegate Award and a Verbal Commendation Award for her contributions. She is equally devoted to singing and musical theater, having performed in the school’s musical productions for three consecutive years. Along with her volunteerism through Key Club, she assists her peers as a tutor.
