November Model Citizens

Theme - Gratitude

N'Teko Eccles is a wonderful student to have in class. He is always willing to participate in discussions and activities, and he always has a wealth of knowledge to share with the class. N'Teko shares fun facts, historical bits, and research - sometimes he'll even stay after class to show Ms. Dempsey something that he thought was super cool! She’s learned so much from him already and she’s grateful to have N'Teko in her class.

Amarii Williams brings creativity and kindness to Ms. Giammarino’s classroom. He is a wonderful reader that is always excited about participating and acting out our stories. He is also kind to Ms. Giammarino and her children by sharing his incredible knowledge of Lego building with her younger daughter that shares his interest. She feels very lucky to have him as a part of her class!

Olivia Smith’s strong work ethic and responsibility are very impressive. Olivia is a friendly young lady, who is well-liked by all of her teachers and peers. She is a pleasure to have in class.

Miles Smith is a student whose creativity inspires Mr. Keeshan to be more creative in his lessons and every day approach to life.

Rose-Kella Seide transferred to Elmont this year, and Ms. Lennon is so grateful that she did. Rose is a key member of her Public Speaking class. She is an eager and active participant who never settles for anything less than her best effort. Rose works collaboratively with her peers and leads by example. She creates and delivers exemplary visual and oral presentations. She is such a pleasure to have in class. Elmont is lucky to have her!

Aaliyah Sajous is Mr. Raskind’s Model Citizen. In Mr. Raskind’s 11th grade English class, they recently had a new entrant. Aaliyah helped this student catch up on some of the notes the new student missed.

Snardyn Marceus is always volunteering answers in class and offering to help and assist. He makes the classroom a better place by supporting the lesson with responses, contributing to class discussions or helping those around him. Ms. Smith is always grateful for his recall of past lessons and topics because it shows that he takes the class lessons seriously and is truly internalizing the material.

Javon Bussereth is a pleasure to have in class. He is always bright and cheery, willing to participate in class discussions and volunteer answers for his classmates to spring off of. First period English with Ms. Smith tends to be the most quiet, but Javon knows how to provide the appropriate energy to warm them all up in the morning.

Aiden Watson is one of the most compassionate students Ms. Teplansky has had the pleasure of knowing. He is always kind and helpful to both his peers and teachers. No one has ever heard him say an unkind word about anyone and tries his best to always lift others up. He is an unsung hero and so often goes unnoticed.

Dymitry Jean Michel saw a 7th grade student struggling. He stopped and talked to the student, and he helped to calm him down by breathing and talking through his frustrations with him. After he calmed down, Dymitry checked in with a staff member to see if there was anything else he should address. It was a great moment and Dymitry really exemplified being a Model Citizen.
