Floral Park Memorial’s Virtual Enterprise program proudly entered its 10th year of building a student-run business, marking a decade of preparing students for the professional world through hands-on experience.
A key part of every year’s launch is the job interview process, where students apply for leadership and employee positions within their new firm. Thanks to the support of the community, the interview panel featured four dedicated professionals: Chamber of Commerce members, local small business owners, and a VE alum who continues to give back each year, recognizing how transformative the program was for her own career path.
Students submitted cover letters and resumes, researched the positions they aspired to be hired for, and interviewed for roles such as CEO, CFO, CMO, CDO and VP of Human Resources. This immersive process not only helps them understand the responsibilities of leadership but also prepares them for real-world opportunities.
The interview process is just one example of how Floral Park’s VE program fosters career exploration, entrepreneurship, and professional skills, ensuring students are not only prepared for the classroom, but also for life beyond it. Students are welcome to stop by the Business Department in Room 103 with any questions about Virtual Enterprise.
