students with awards

Under the supervision of Ms. Theresa Ball, the National English Honor Society members held the first Edgar Allan Poe inspired writing contest. In his mysterious stories, Poe focused on creating atmosphere and psychological tension rather than relying on gore or violence. Just like Poe, students wrote stories that invoked fear without direct horror elements. Congratulations to contest winners 10th grader Sienna Prestia and eighth grader Clare Catterson!
