Students enrolled in English 102 put their writing skills into action by creating Valentine’s Day cards for residents of Plattduetsche Home Society in Franklin Square. Through this lesson on audience and tone, students learned that words have the power to bring comfort, joy and connection to someone they may never meet. This small but meaningful act strengthened community ties and reminded students that writing with intention and care can make a lasting difference.
