On March 27, students enrolled in Virtual Enterprise, a course in which students build and run their own business from the ground up, put their entrepreneurial skills to the test at a live trade show, pitching their products to up to 400 fellow students.
The event was the culmination of weeks of hands-on preparation, during which students developed their app, determined competitive pricing, composed a sales pitch and built their branding entirely from scratch. Chamber of Commerce President Shane Parouse and a VE alum Caitlyn Sherry also visited the event to see how the students have progressed; the same individuals who were part of the interview committee that placed students in their roles.
Having proven themselves in front of a large audience, these young entrepreneurs will now take their businesses to the international stage, competing at a trade show at the Jacob Javits Center at the end of April alongside Virtual Enterprise students from around the world.
