On April 15, two students nominated by Floral Park’s Business Department were recognized at the Nassau County Math, Accounting & Finance Award Ceremony, held at the Nassau County Theodore Roosevelt Executive & Legislative Building. Awards were presented by Nassau County Comptroller Ms. Elaine Phillips.

Ranbir Kalra, a senior, was honored for his work in Virtual Enterprise. In his nomination essay, Ranbir reflected on how embracing feedback and developing greater accountability helped him grow as a leader. This growth led to his advancement to Chief Operating Officer, where he demonstrated exceptional leadership and business acumen.

Amanda Puglisi, a junior enrolled in our Dual Enrollment program at Nassau Community College, was recognized for her excellence in Pre-Calculus and Financial Literacy. In her essay, Amanda described how she applies these financial concepts to real-world conversations and personal decision-making, highlighting the relevance of financial education beyond the classroom.

Both students represent the future of excellence in business, mathematics and finance.
