The district welcomed approximately 780 incoming seventh graders to its annual Summer Enrichment Program, held at all five school buildings from July 6-23. The free program gave students the opportunity to become familiar with their new schools, meet teachers and classmates and build confidence before the start of the school year.

Designed to re-engage, re-invigorate and re-ignite students' love of school and learning, the Summer Enrichment Program helped ease the transition to middle school by balancing academics, social-emotional learning, health and wellness and hands-on experiences. Each of the district's five schools tailored the program to best meet the needs of its students while maintaining the shared goal of helping incoming seventh graders feel prepared and excited for September.

Throughout the three-week program, students learned practical skills such as opening and mastering their locker combinations, practiced time management and organizational strategies and acclimated to their new school building. Daily schedules included advisory sessions, along with specials, physical fitness activities and Genius Hour.

The Summer Enrichment Program concluded with action-packed Field Days, giving students the opportunity to celebrate their accomplishments and the connections they made throughout the program.
