Floral Park Memorial High School student Viny Zheng has been recognized as a Long Island Scholar-Artist in the Media Arts Category for the 2026-2027 school year. This prestigious honor, presented by the Long Island Arts Alliance and Newsday, recognizes students who demonstrate exceptional artistic talent and academic achievement.

Viny is one of only 20 students across Long Island selected for this year’s Scholar-Artist program. Her photograph and profile were featured in Newsday in October, in both print and online editions. This recognition is among the highest honors a student-artist can receive.

Viny credits her Floral Park Memorial art teacher, Mrs. Santana, who taught her Studio in Art, Photographic Art and AP 2-Dimensional Design, for encouraging her growth “not only as an artist but as a person as well.” She also acknowledges the continued support of her family throughout her artistic journey.

This well-deserved recognition celebrates Viny’s creativity, artistic vision, dedication and commitment to excellence. Floral Park Memorial High School is incredibly proud of her accomplishments and congratulates her on this outstanding achievement!
