On April 27, Floral Park High School seventh graders met New York Times bestselling author, illustrator and cartoonist George O’Connor. This author’s visit was packed with exciting stories about Greek mythology. Students learned about the book writing process from beginning to end and were also treated to drawing demonstrations. His passion for art and storytelling left a positive impact on all who came to meet the author.
The in-school field trip was organized by the English Department. Prior to the event, the students discussed with librarians Mrs. Simonovski and Mr. Renner the genre of Graphic Novels and learned about Mr. O’Conor’s “Olympians” series.
