On April 27, New Hyde Park Memorial High School Class of 2028 partnered with the Town of North Hempstead to celebrate Earth Day. The Town sponsored an afternoon of gardening on the school grounds. Under the supervision of Assistant Principal Rosemary DeGennaro and Class Advisors Kristin Flood and Lisa Stack, the student-volunteers worked on beautifying the courtyard and entrances by weeding, clipping and turning over the soil. The afternoon concluded with a visit from Town of North Hempstead Council Member Dennis Walsh, and the students proudly showed off their hard work. Special thanks to Mr. Dennis Walsh and staff for providing our students with T-shirts, gardening gloves and a rewarding volunteer experience!
