Elmont Memorial High School student Christina Bayne and New Hyde Park Memorial High School student Ethan Lin proudly represented New York State at the Regeneron International Science and Engineering Fair, held May 9-15 in Phoenix.

During the prestigious international competition, the students presented their research alongside more than 1,700 STEM students from over 67 countries, regions and territories at the Phoenix Convention Center. Participants had the opportunity to collaborate with peers and connect with global STEM leaders, while more than $7 million in awards and prizes were presented.

Christina also earned a Special Award: a four-year full-tuition scholarship to Westlake University, a leading research university in Hangzhou, China, focused on cultivating top scientific talent, making breakthroughs in basic research and innovative cutting-edge technologies while fostering human development through science and technology.
