New Hyde Park Memorial High School’s student-run newspaper, The Chariot, has earned Gold Circle recognition from the Columbia Scholastic Press Association (CSPA).
Editors-in-Chief Hannah Kim and Gregory Marzano were honored with a Certificate of Merit for their editorial, “Moving Forward with Mental Health.” Additionally, photographer Anna Detke was acknowledged for her boys volleyball photo that accompanied the sports article “Farewell Fall Sports.”
This year’s Gold Circle entries were published during the 2020-21 school year. There were 4,132 entrants in 91 categories, and CSPA awarded a total of 606 winners from that entry pool.
