On Dec. 11, the Sewanhaka High School English Department and the Poets and Writers Club held their annual Barnes & Noble fundraiser. There were spoken performances by members of the Poets and Writers Club, and musical performances by members of the orchestra and band. There was also a surprise appearance from Santa Claus! The money raised from the fundraiser contributes to the Renaissance Award that is granted through the English Department. The award is granted to two seniors - one who excels at English and music, and one who excels at English and art.
The fundraiser is ongoing through Wednesday, at the Barnes and Noble on Old Country Road in Carle Place. If you purchase anything, be sure to mention “Sewanhaka High School” at the register.
