On Feb. 11, students from the district’s Senior Robotics Club (FTC Team 4107 - The RoboPandas) competed at a FIRST Tech Challenge Robotics Qualifier hosted by The Stony Brook School.
Students gave a 5-minute presentation to a panel of judges and responded to four different rounds of interviews during the day. By the end of the competition, Sewanhaka was recognized with the First Place Inspire Award, which is given to the team that best embodies the “challenge” of the FIRST Tech Challenge program. The team that receives this award is a strong ambassador for FIRST programs and a role model FIRST team.
Sewanhaka Robotics will be competing again at the FIRST Tech Challenge Long Island Regional Championships hosted by Bethpage High School on March 12.
