Brianna Sullivan smiling at the camera

H. Frank Carey High School student Brianna Sullivan has been selected as the first place winner in the grades 9-12 category of the Future Engineers’ Future Creatures Challenge.

Students were tasked with picking a vertebrate animal living in a tropical rainforest and draw/illustrate/predict how it may look in the future due to the long-term effects of climate change. Entries were required to have two illustrations: one of the animal in its present habitat and one as an adapted animal in the predicted future habitat. Students also had to submit a short essay explaining their illustrations.

Brianna earned first place for her submission on the basilisk glider lizard.
