The district’s Robotics Club competed at the Long Island FIRST Tech Challenge Robotics Championship, hosted at Mineola High School, on March 3.
The team’s innovative approach, which included a unique differential drive system and lightweight panel construction, earned them the Design Award for excellence in industrial design.
The team is comprised of New Hyde Park Memorial High School student Zarif Abrar, New Hyde Park Memorial High School student Shohom Chakraborty, Floral Park Memorial High School student Ainsley Cunningham, New Hyde Park Memorial High School student Ethan Lin, Floral Park Memorial High School student Miles Lucatorto, Sewanhaka High School student Hailey Sethi, Sewanhaka High School student Homar Salambay and Floral Park Memorial High School student Ian Tallini.
