The district had students display their artwork at the Art Supervisors Association’s 20th Nassau All-County Art Exhibition, held at W.T. Clark High School on March 10.
This year, hundreds of art educators from all over Nassau County submitted student artwork to the exhibition, which honored more than 1,500 kindergarten through 12th grade students who have demonstrated excellence in a wide variety of two-dimensional visual art mediums including pencil, pastels, ink, charcoal, painting, printmaking, computer graphics, collage and photography.
Elmont Memorial High School students are Amanda Johnson, Sasha Maharaj, Layla Parker, Rose-Kella Seide and Kyndra Smith.
Floral Park Memorial High School students are Guiliana DePaola, Samrah Faisal, Megan McVeigh, Avril O’Connor and Jessica Yuen.
H. Frank Carey High School students are Sophia Glaviano, Serena Kalamaris, Isabel Mogollon, Shreya Sethi and Dylan Zittin.
New Hyde Park Memorial High School students are Kitty Guan, Anastasia Kostakos, Emily Lin and Aayushi Sharma.
Sewanhaka High School students are Ryanna Gregory, Febina Kurian, Shanti Jean-Louis, Hailey Sethi and Jade Trask.
One of the ASA goals is to nurture young artists and recognize individuals who have made an outstanding contribution to arts education. They awarded scholarships to over 50 graduating senior art students. Rose-Kella Seide of Elmont Memorial High School, Avril O’Connor of Floral Park Memorial High School, Sophia Glaviano of H. Frank Carey High School, Aayushi Sharma of New Hyde Park Memorial High School and Shanti Sethi of Sewanhaka High School were the proud ASA Senior Scholarship Recipients from SCHSD!
