On March 26, fifty Sewanhaka Career and Technical Education program students competed in the 2024 SkillsUSA Regional Competition, held at the Brentwood campus of Suffolk Community College. Sewanhaka students participated in hands-on technical competitions, demonstrating their abilities developed through CTE. Students also participated in competitions that align with their development of soft skills and career readiness.

The students’ accomplishments were recognized at an awards luncheon at the Crest Hollow Country Club. H. Frank Carey High School students Lochitha Thambeliyagoda and Julian Santana served as Area 6 officers to assist with the event.
