The district honored the accomplishments of students and board members during the board of education meeting on June 25.
Elmont Memorial High School student-athletes on the boys spring track and field team were recognized for being named NY State Federation Champions in the 4x400 relay. The students are Dominic Collins, Christopher Diaz Hernandez, Caleb Harris, Aidan Peterkin and Rlen Richards. They were joined by their coach, Mike Graham.
Interim Superintendent Dr. Thomas Dolan then thanked board trustees Beth Kierez and Sharon Earley Davis for their time served on the board. He presented them with citations from Assemblywoman Michaelle Solages’ office.
The awards and presentations concluded with Dr. Dolan presenting a plaque honoring the memory of Robert “Bob” Andrews, a former principal, assistant principal and teacher at Sewanhaka High School. The plaque is in recognition of his exemplification of the dedicated, caring and attentive professional for students, parents and staff.
