Superintendent of Schools Regina M. Agrusa has been selected as the recipient of this year’s Administrative Vision Award, presented by the New York State Association of World Language Administrators.

This award honors superintendents and assistant superintendents who have demonstrated sustained and visible advocacy for world language education within their districts. Those who receive this award have directly impacted program quality, teacher morale and student opportunity. Ms. Agrusa was nominated by Floral Park Memorial High School Chairperson of World Languages Dr. Gina Holohan and Elmont Memorial High School Chairperson of World Languages Katina Price.

Ms. Agrusa has a distinguished career in the Sewanhaka Central High School District, spanning more than two decades. Her commitment to world language education is evident in a multitude of ways, including expanding course offerings, endorsing curriculum development, celebrating student achievements and encouraging participation in international learning experiences.

On May 30, Ms. Agrusa was presented the award at the NYSAWLA End of Year Luncheon.
