H. Frank Carey High School is proud to announce that senior Ava Maia has been selected as a Newsday Scholar-Artist in the category of Media Arts. Ava’s outstanding creativity, dedication and artistic talent have earned her this prestigious recognition, and she will be featured in the October edition of Newsday.
The Newsday Scholar-Artist program, in partnership with the Long Island Arts Alliance, honors high school students who excel not only in the arts but also demonstrate academic achievement and strong character. Each year, only a select group of students across Nassau and Suffolk counties are chosen as Scholar-Artists in categories such as Media Arts, Visual Arts, Music, Theater and Dance.
Ava’s recognition is a reflection of her hard work, artistic vision and commitment to excellence. We are thrilled to celebrate her accomplishments and look forward to seeing her featured in Newsday this fall. Congratulations, Ava!
