H. Frank Carey High School senior Enrik Myftaraj has been chosen as a semifinalist in the 72nd annual National Merit Scholarship Program.
Students entered the 2027 National Merit Scholarship Program by taking the 2025 Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test, which served as the initial screening for program entrants. The nationwide group of semifinalists, representing less than one percent of U.S. high school seniors, includes the highest-scoring participants in each state. Approximately 16,000 students were selected as semifinalists.
Semifinalists must fulfill several additional requirements to qualify as a finalist, including continuing to meet all program entry requirements, completing the application and writing an essay, and taking the SAT or ACT and earning scores that confirm the PSAT/NMSQT performance.
