The Elmont community came together in a spirited celebration of homecoming on Oct. 3, as students, staff and families showed their Spartan pride throughout a day filled with tradition and excitement.
The festivities kicked off with the annual homecoming parade, drawing crowds along Dutch Broadway as the marching band, cheerleaders, homecoming court and student organizations and clubs made their way through the community. With colorful displays, music and
enthusiastic spectators, the parade highlighted the strong connection between Elmont Memorial High School and the community it serves.
The celebration continued on the football field later that day, where Spartan fans filled the stands to support the home team in a thrilling matchup against Mineola High School. The lively crowd helped create an unforgettable atmosphere as the Spartans battled to a hard-fought victory of 26-20.
Halftime featured a captivating performance by the Elmont Memorial Marching Band, showcasing this year’s show “Caught in the Storm,” followed by the crowning of the Homecoming Royalty Sarah Gafur, Jose Galletti and Odelia Nugent. Winners of the week’s spirited
competitions were also recognized, including Spirit Week, class float and banner contests. The friendly rivalry and creative displays throughout the week reflected the enthusiasm, teamwork and school pride that made this year’s homecoming celebration a memorable success
