Sewanhaka Central High School District’s Senior Robotics Club, named the RoboPandas, participated in the FIRST Tech Challenge Regional Qualifying Tournament #3, held remotely from Jan. 31 to Feb. 4.
Sewanhaka’s RoboPandas team brought home multiple top awards, including the First Place Connect Award, Second Place Inspire Award, Second Place Top Ranked Award, Second Place Best Overall Team, Second Place Best Scores for Robot Performance, Third Place Think Award, Third Place Control Award and the Third Place Design Award.
The RoboPandas are now preparing to compete in the Long Island Regional Championship, to be held on March 12 at Syosset High School. Success in the regional championship qualifies them to advance to the World Championship in Houston, Texas.
